“As a compulsive cello playing architect, I found myself constantly picking up the cello throughout the day for short, intense and inspiring music breaks. The dilemma: to put the cello back in the case, leave it resting on the chair or floor, finding an empty corner, or buy some (not very pleasing) gadget to hold it. All options didn’t seem good, so as an architect and furniture designer, me and my office tackled this problem. So the cello bench was born: a safe, secure, elegant solution for your instrument to live in, and a comfortable and flexible seat to play on.”

Craftsmanship
Hand built in Austin, Texas
Hand built out of CNC’d prime quality 16-ply Maple plywood. Hand sanded until smooth to the touch and rubbed-in eco friendly matte water-resistant finish.
Powder coated 1/8” thick steel legs.
Concealed connectors through out.
Seating Pad Options : Leather cushion or Closed Foam cushion
Custom leather cushion with a firm high density foam. Exposed stitching.
Comes in three options: 2” thick, 4” thick and a 2”-4” front to back wedge.
Closed Foam cushion 2” thick in a black textured finish
Front face options
You can choose from a more classic, flat face front or a more modern exposed truss front face.
The truss cut-outs are on all the interior slats. This is done in order to save weight by eliminating structurally unneeded material
The Cradle
Two Options
Cello
Design to fit a full size (4/4) cello, accomodating a vast variety of models from a Strad to a wider Montagnana or Gofriller model. Max bout width is 18 5/8” and max rib length is 5 5/8”.
Felt lines the cradle so the instrument never touches the hard surfaces of the bench.
For 1/2 size cellos we recommend using the guitar bench.
Guitar
The Guitar Bench is design to accommodate a vast variety of guitars, raging from a spanish classical guitar, a classic hollow body archtop to a telecaster. This bench is not design for asymmetrical or bodiless guitars.
The cradle is lined with felt and a friction material to prevent the guitar from rocking within the cradle.
Max lower bout dimension is 17 3/4” and max rib dimension is 4 1/2”.
Bow Storage
The cello version comes with a place in between the slats for storing two bows
EndPin Strap Holder
For the Cello Version we offer the option of an endpin strap holder. A concealable flat head screw offers the perfect place to hook up your endpin holder.
